A Sincere Advice Regarding Those Sisters Who Turned Hijāb Into Fashion!

ﺑﺴﻢ ﺍﻟﻠّٰﻪ ﺍﻟﺮﺣﻤﻦ ﺍﻟﺮﺣﻴﻢ
Too many people say "Only God can judge me" without keeping in mind that he actually will.
If anyone criticises your beard, your Hijab, your Thobe or your Abayah, just remember you're here to please Allah, and not people. If Allāh ﷻ & His Rasul ﷺ declared something impermissible , its impermissible. Dont sugar coat issues to please others & satisfy ur desires.
Imagine entering Jahannam because you were given sound advice, yet you rejected it and carried in sinning. How foolish would you feel? Why must one feel they need to adapt to society, when the purpose of the hijab is to please the Lord? The one who claims that:
ﻭَﻗَﺮْﻥَ ﻓِﻲ ﺑُﻴُﻮﺗِﻜُﻦَّ "Abide in your houses" [33:33] , was revealed specially for the Mothers of the Believers is answered by asking him: Were the following revealed for them: ﻭَﻟَﺎ ﺗَﺒَﺮَّﺟْﻦَ ﺗَﺒَﺮُّﺝَ ﺍﻟْﺠَﺎﻫِﻠِﻴَّﺔِ ﺍﻟْﺄُﻭﻟَﻰٰ "And do not display yourselves [..] And establish prayer and give Zakāh." [33:33]? And they are commands within the same verse.
Don’t ignore the Hijāb/Niqab for fear of people. Wear it out of fear for Allāh & you’ll love every moment of wearing your Hijab and Niqāb! Hijābi Fashion' has no basis in Islām, as the purpose of hijab is to divert attention, not attract it. Many 'fashionable' hijab go against the purpose of it. Its not supposed to attract attention. Some of these "hijabistas" take photos of themeselves in short sleeves and high ankle trousers. How is this hijāb?
Dont look for loopholes to corrupt Islām, so you can get the attention of people and seek worldly fame. Not in the name of Islam.
End of the day, hijab is an act of worship. It is a commandment from the Qurān. Not an article from vogue magazine. Its first and foremost for Allāh. Its an act of worship, not a fashion statement. Why be proud of making something 'fashionable'? It'snt that commandment of Allāh enough? Wearing hijāb comes from a sincere yearning to
please Allāh while appreciating the wisdom underlying His command.
When wearing the Hijab, you are visually representing a Qur'ānic verse So if you are going to change it, and tighten the clothes, or apply things to your body which causes attraction (defeating the whole purpose). Then you are disrespecting the verse of the Qur'ān and representing something which doesn’t even exist in the Qur'anic commandments.
Woman wear tight clothes and expose their skin due to the heat, Have they forgotten that the heat of the hellfire is far worse? Sisters, Want fashion advice from the best role model? Aisha RadhiAllahuanha gave 70,000 Dirham in charity while her own skirt was patched
It is from Islam that women should conceal their ankles and men should reveal them. Nowadays, women reveal them, while the men cover theirs. Being steadfast along the path in this world is as difficult as being steadfast on the path that is over hellfire.
O' You doubtiful! If you think Hijāb oppresses women. Ask a hijābi to remove her hijab and see the look she gives you, "Scary". A rose protects its beauty with thorns, a Muslimah protects her beauty with her Hijāb! We give little care to what our eyes see, not knowing that the haraam is adding veils between our hearts and Allāh.
May Allāh guide us and protect usus, Amin.

Eyes widely closed

Social media was invented to open our eyes into the manifestation of the advancement in
technology. Irrespective of the ulterior motives that might be behind its evolution, it is primarily to make the world a global village as predicted by McLuhan (1964). All the media that socially unites the world has broken down all the wall of partitions and closed the gaps among nations of the world.
Gone are the days when facebook, twitter, bbm, whatsapp, etc. serve as escape for people, where they could log onto to make their fun time a learning time, laugh to hilarious jokes, catch up withwith pals etc. Today, social media are the primary source of sadness, boredom and tear for the soft hearted. Users are not sarcastic in their idea- sharing,
unsteady of to create a learning or fun atmosphere to uplift friends and/or followers, they update to count the number of likes and comments. If it is only to impress, intimidate, show- off etc.
It could still be seen as a form of public relations, but when it goes beyond all these to leaving our responsibility to save lives and properties, then, we are completely finished!
Has there ever been any accident scene where there is no saviour? No! but instead of being
saviour, we turn out to be unprofessional photojournalists, photographers, cameraman with
all focus on how busy our pages will be with different comments and likes from known and
unknown friends and/or followers.
We get more satisfaction and relevance from the traffic on how posts of mournful pictures and/ or videos. Instead of being having a pusillanimous feelings towards taking victims pictures, we laugh and see it as new amazing events to attract people to our posts. Who to be blamed when victims also struggle to take pictures of themselves while dying?
Yes, I agree there are some photo-shopped, incidents that can teach some lessons and charge people to be more careful, but, instead of snapping at the expense of victims’ life, a well written pieces can be posted with testimony from the victim (now alive/healthy). I could remember in 2012, on our way from Ilorin to Oyo there was an accident which happened just few minutes before our bus arrived at the scene, as people from different cars and buses were alighting, some went to save the passengers, some called social
agents (police, road safety, red cross etc.) while some were standing watching (they might have been carried away..) as our bus parked, the lady beside me said “please open the door and allow us to get down, I need to take picture, let me snap please” .
I was shocked and the lady sounded disgusting. Even if she was a journalist, it is expected of any responsible journalists to rather save a life than write a famous tragic story. The misuse of social media is not limited to that but also defaming other people just to be funny.
You saw snapped picture of your neighbour while bathing in the bathroom and uploaded it on socia media, people like you will also comment “why should he/she be naked? good for him/her, bastard asewo”, do you bath fully dressed in your own house? Lets be more Godly in our use of social media and uphold the sense of social responsibility than useless and irrelevant self- interest. lets process each information seen on any of the social media
platform before we comment.
The earlier we change, the sooner violence will be reduced in our society; the less we propagate evils, the more peaceful we live together. lets promote a peaceful
atmosphere that worth living.

WHAT IS QABLI AND BAADI ?

Explanation to "Qabli" and "Baadi" in Salaat. Qabli is the SUJUD you make before SALAM when you mistakenly Omit obligatory parts of salat. While Baadi is the SUJUD you make after SALAM when you mistakenly ADD during salat.
During salaat one may make a mistake and ADD something to his or her salaat or Omit something in salaat. These two mistakes often confuse us on how to compensate for them. I will try to explain the two terms because they are very important to complete our salaat properly. When you add anything like rakaat, sujuud etc in salaat which makes the salaat more than expected, we term it BAADI.
To compensate for BAADI you will add two sujuud after final Tashahhud and Tasleem then sit down to repeat tashahhud and Tasleem to complete your salaat. When you noticed you've shortened or omitted something in your salaat then compensate with QABLI. It is compensated by two sujuud after the final Tashahhud before final Tasleem. If you are wondering omitting something whiles reciting Tashahhud then just do Qabli and try to
increase your Sunnah salaat or Naflat salaat to help fix any unknown mistakes to our fard
prayers.
Note:Tashahhud is the ''Attahiiyaat to end'' and Tasleem is the final ''Assalaamu Alaikum
Warahmatullah we say by turning our head to the right then to the left'' May Allah keep guiding us aright and may He forgive our mistakes... Amin.

AJIMOBI CONDOLES WITH OYO APC OVER LEGAL OFFICER'S DEATH

Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has mourned the death of the Director of Legal
Services of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr. Wale Diya, an incident he described as the exit of a shining star within the fold of the progressives.
The governor commiserated with the party, the deceased immediate and extended families, friends and professional colleagues in a statement by his Special Adviser, Communication
and Strategy, Mr. Yomi Layinka, on Wednesday. Diya died at the University College Hospital,
Ibadan, on Thursday during a brief illness. He was aged 48.
Ajimobi said, “I received the news of the death of the young man with shock and disbelief. We have been praying for his recovery since he was hospitalized, but God knows the best and we have to succumb to His will. “Diya was a shining star within the fold of the progressives. He will be sorely missed.
He was a brilliant lawyer and dedicated party member who was always ready to sacrifice his comfort in defending the cause of the party.
“I’m saddened by this loss and I want to pray for the repose of his soul. He was snatched by the cold hands of death in his prime. May the Almighty grant his family the strength to bear
this unfortunate incident.”
Ajimobi acknowledged the late legal practitioner’s immense contributions to the APC’s
unprecedented victory in last year’s general elections and the attendant string of victories of the party’s elected representatives at the election petition tribunal.

OYO ASSEMBLY PASSES N173BN APPROPRIATION BILL INTO LAW

The Oyo State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed N173billion appropriation bill into law. Governor Abiola Ajimobi had presented the budget for the 2016 fiscal year to the state legislature a few weeks ago. The total figure was put at N173,769,404,444 billion by the state lawmakers.
The breakdown shows that N100,651,599,183 billion is for recurrent expenditure, while N73,117,805,261 billion is budgeted for capital expenditure. The initial amount presented by the governor was N165,097,845,486 , but the recurrent expenditurenow has an upward review of 8.7 per cent, capital expenditure 0.05 per cent and the budget size has a total increase of 5.2 per cent.
The Assembly Speaker, Michael Adeyemo, after the unanimous consent of the entire legislature passed the budget, shortly after the house considered the outcome of deliberations of its Public Finance and Appropriation Committee headed by Bolanle Agbaje tabled its report before the committee of the whole. Presenting the report earlier, Hon Agbaje observed that the budget performance of the preceding year was rather low due to the paucity of funds, but noted that the state government has now adopted the modified zero-based budgeting for a more realistic approach.
She also stated that there was critical consideration of items of expenditure to ensure that priority is giving to the basic need of socio- economical development of the state. Justifying reasons for the upward review of the budget, Agbaje said:” to make adequate provision for payment of pension and gratuity for retired local government staff, to improve sporting activities, funding of newly established tertiary institutions in the state and to sustain local governments” Similary, the Speaker said the amendments were made due to some exigencies.

Qualities of a good woman to marry

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) has taught us what the Muslim
should seek in the one whom he chooses to be his wife. That may be summed up as follows:
1 – She should be religiously committed, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Women may be married for four things: their wealth, their lineage, their beauty and their religious commitment. Choose the one who is religiously-committed, may your hands be rubbed with dust (i.e., may you prosper).”
Narrated by al-Bukhaari (4802) and Muslim (1466). i.e., that which encourages a man to marry a woman may be one of these four things, but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) enjoined us not to choose anyone else over the one who is religiously committed.
2 – She should be fertile, because of the hadeeth: “Marry women who are loving and fertile, for I will be proud of your great number before the other nations on the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated by Abu Dawood (2050); classed as saheeh by al- Albaani in Saheeh Abu Dawood. It may be known whether a virgin will be fertile if she is from a family whose women are known for bearing many children.
3 – She should be a virgin, because of the report: “Why not a virgin, so you could play with her and she could play with you?” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5052).
4 – She should have a good lineage i.e., be from a good family.
5 – She should be beautiful because that will bring tranquillity to him and be more helpful in lowering the gaze and more likely to bring about love. Hence it is prescribed to look at the woman before doing the marriage contract.
6 – She should be mature and he should avoid foolish women, because marriage is intended to be a permanent relationship and one cannot live with fools, and a foolish attitude may be picked up by the woman’s children.

BENEFITS OF SUJUDUSH SHUKUR

Sujudush Shukr is like a treasure in this world and al ākhira. This information is worth gold, the benefits of doing Sajdatul Shukr. Most of us miss these benefits and we don't know how much it's worth. When we do Sajdatul Shukr, Allah opens the hijaab between us and the Angels . He says to the Angels, look at my slave, he did his fardh and obeyed My teachings and he did Sujuud to thank Me for what I've blessed him with.
Oh My Angels what should he get? The Angels will reply, Ya Rabana give him Your mercy. Then Allah will ask again, and what else? The Angels will reply, Ya Rabana give him Your heaven. Then Allah will ask again, and what else? The Angels will reply, Ya Rabana make his worries end. Then Allah Taala will ask what else? Everytime Allah asks and what else, the Angels will reply, something good. Lastly the Angels will reply, Ya Rabana we have no knowledge. Then Allah will say, ' I'll thank him the way he thanked Me, I'll give him My favour and show him My mercy'.
What harm do we get if we do Sajdatul Shukr everyday? It's just a sajda and not a salaat.
whenever you are blessed with any good or any harm being removed, You can do it with or without wudu'; facing alqibla or not. But it's best with wudu' and facing the alqibla. During Sajdatul Shukr say what you say in the prostration during salat. Do not let this chance get away from you. Everytime you do this sujda you'll get reward (ajr). Even after you've died it'll be sadaqatul jariya. O Allah, make it sadaqatul jariya for me, my parents, my family, all those who'll read this and all Muslims. Ameen and Jumuah Mufeedah.

Rehabilitate Ogun, Oyo federal roads, Reps tell FG- John Ameh

The House of Representatives on Tuesday listed roads in Ogun and Oyo states requiring
immediate attention, urging the Federal Government to rehabilitate them. They are the Owode-Ilaro-Papalanto-Sagamu Interchange on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the Idiroko-Sango Ota Road – both in Ogun State.
The old Oyo–Ogbomosho Road in Oyo State completes the list. Two lawmakers – Mr. Adekunle Akinlade, and Mr. Segun Ogunwuyi – had moved separate motions on the deplorable state of the roads on Tuesday, calling for action. The House observed that frequent accidents on the roads had led to the loss of lives over the years.
The session was presided over by the Speaker, Mr. Yakubu Dogara. The lawmakers also noted that manufacturing companies operating in the areas had suffered “economic losses”. On the Ogun roads, the House asked the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing “to dualise the roads in order to accommodate the ever-increasing volume of traffic and weight of industrial goods transported on them”.
On the economic importance of the roads, the House said, “The 28km Owode Road, the 85km Papalanto-Sagamu Interchange and the 83km Idiroko-Sango Ota Road are Federal Government highways that serve as the major link roads for transporting finished goods between industrial complexes established in these areas and the markets in other parts of the country.”
For example, it noted that between January and June 2015 alone, “more than 38 people lost their lives on the Ilaro-Papalanto-Sagamu interchange stretch as a result of breakdown of trucks on these roads, which also leads to delay in supplies and deliveries”. On the Oyo-Ogbomosho Road, the House said it should be urgently rehabilitated, “while also ensuring the speedy completion of the Oyo-Ogbomosho section of the Ibadan-Oyo- Ogbomosho-Ilorin Expressway”.
A similar motion moved by Talatu Yohanna, also sought the rehabilitation/reconstruction of
Cham-Numan Road in Adamawa State. All the motions were passed in a unanimous voice vote by the lawmakers.

Community decries neglect

Residents of Okeogun, a community of 10 local government areas in Oyo State, have cried out for attention. They are aggrieved over lack of state and Federal Government presence in the area, a situation that resulted in unsavoury circumstances. The residents said they lack
good roads, potable water, electricity and other essential facilities that can make life worth
living.
Rising from its monthly development meeting held at Elekokan Town in Iwajowa Local
Government Area, the President of Okeogun Liberation Movement, Alhaji Fatai Azeez said:
“It is regrettable that the community is totally neglected in terms of infrastructural
development. We are made up of 10 local government areas such as of Iseyin, Atisbo,
Iwajowa, Kajola, Itesiwaju, Shaki West, Orelope, Irepodun, OgoOluwa and Shaki East. Tell me what infrastructure or modern facilities have government provided for inhabitants of these areas?
This is a community of two million people, going by the 2006 Census figure.” He said the area is dotted with several abandoned projects among which are Ikere Gorge Dam in Iseyin that was designed to provide electricity and potable water for Ibadan and the teeming population of the community.
According to him, this project has been abandoned since the administration of former
President Shehu Shagari. Other facilities begging for attention include Iseyin –Okeho
Road, Okeho-Ilero Bridge, Ibadan – Adeomu Road, Iseyin –Abeokuta Road. Adekola Bridge
has been neglected for long and Elekokan town in Iwajowa Local Government Area has no
water or light.
A walk round Elekokan town bore testimony to the bumpy nature of the road that has been
abandoned for several years. Alhaji Azeez said in spite of the community’s role in the state’s socio-economic and political development of the state as the second largest
in population, it is worrisome that politicians have refused to accord it what is due to it.
He added: “Apart from Ibadan that is made up of 11 local government areas, the current
administration received the highest number of votes from Okeogun during the last election.
On the community’s contribution to agriculture, he said: “In terms of agriculture, we produce the best to feed the state but our efforts are hampered by bad roads because we cannot evacuate our cash crops such as cocoa, cassava and cashew to generate revenue.”
Government should encourage us to produce more food through loan facilities, insecticides, trainings, seminars and commodity organisations that can facilitate good prices for our farm produce.

O Mothers of Muslims!

O Mother of Muslims, Your child will learn from you as the father is elsewhere. As he is organising the home financially, you should be structuring it knowledge wise and spiritually.

O Mothers of Muslims, a child's character is the reflection of the mother's character, don't teach him to lie so he don't grow with it, don't deceive them so it'll not be part of their character.

O Mother of Muslims, your child will learn the way you treat his father and thinks that's how it should be. So do not raise your voice on his father even when you both do not agree on issues.

O Mother of Muslims, your child will learn to argue on everything if you argue with his father in his presence. So when he say something you feel it need to be readdressed then discuss it with him in the 'private zone'.

O Mother of Muslims, be the teacher of your child first at home, as most schools will only help in destroying the little religious orientation he has. So be his teacher as you are his first teacher.

O Mother of Muslims, before you become a mother (before you get married), get something for yourself that will attract a man to you. You know men like beauty, if you are blessed with that, then all praise to ALLAAH. If not, then all praises to ALLAAH. Make yourself valuable. A sister who has the Qur'aan and speak good Arabic is attracted to men even if she's not a 'shinning star'. Beauty fades but knowledge don't.
O Mother of Muslims, plan your home, the way you want it to be, and do allow your child roam about in the street.

O Mother of Muslims, pray for your wards and their father in their presence. They will always reciprocate that.
Evaluate yourself, and get something to learn, its an extra credit.

May ALLAAH bless all Mothers of Muslims.

Are U prepared for Death ?

Life slips away second by second. Are you aware that every day brings you closer to death or that death is as close to you as it is to other people? As we are told in the verseverse

Whatsoever is on it (the earth) will perish. And the Face of your Lord full of Majesty and Honour will remain forever” [al-Rahmaan 55:26-27]

“Every soul shall taste death in the end; to Us shall you be brought back.” (Surat al-‘Ankabut: 57)

everyone who has ever appeared on this earth was destined to die. Without exception they all died, every one. Today, we hardly come across the traces of many of these people who passed away. Those currently living and those who will ever live will also face death on a predestined day. Despite this fact, people tend to see death as an unlikely incident.

Think of a baby who has just opened its eyes to the world and a man who is about to breathe his last. Both had no influence on their individual birth or death whatsoever. Only God possesses the power to inspire the breath of life or to take it away.

All human beings will live until a certain day and then die; God in the Qur’an gives an account of the attitude commonly shown towards death in the following verse:
Say: “The death from which you flee will truly overtake you: then you will be sent back to the Knower of things secret and open: and He will tell you (the truth of) the things that you did!” (Surat al- Jumu’ah: 8)

The majority of people avoid thinking about death. In the rapid flow of daily events, a person usually occupies himself with totally different subjects: what college to enroll in, which company to work for, what color of clothing to wear next morning, what to cook for supper; these are the kinds of major issues that we usually consider. Life is perceived as a routine process of such minor matters. Attempts to talk about death are always interrupted by those who do not feel comfortable hearing about it. Assuming death will come only when one grows older, one does not want to concern himself with such an unpleasant subject. Yet it should be kept in mind that living for even one further hour is never guaranteed. Everyday, man witnesses the deaths of people around him but thinks little about the day when others will witness his own death. He never supposes that such an end is awaiting him.

Say: “Running away will not profit you if you are running away from death or slaughter; and even if (you do escape), no more than a brief (respite) will you be allowed to enjoy!”(Surat al-Ahzab: 16)

Man who is created alone should be aware that he would also die alone. Yet during his life, he lives almost addicted to possessions. His sole purpose in life becomes to possess more. Yet, no one can take his goods with him to the grave. The body is buried wrapped in a shroud made from the cheapest of fabrics. The body comes into this world alone and departs from it in the same way…

According to the hadeeth of ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to pray in his salaah (prayer),

“O Allaah, I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave, I seek refuge in You from the tribulation of the Dajjaal, I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death, O Allaah, I seek refuge in You from sin and loss).”
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 798; Muslim, 589)

LG ELECTION WILL HOLD IN FOUR MONTHS, AS AJIMOBI INAUGURATES CARETAKER CHAIRMEN

Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has told the newly-inaugurated local government transition committee chairmen not to contemplate staying in office beyond four months, immediately after which, he said, election into the LGs will be held. The governor said this in his address after the oath of office was administered on the 33 council
chairmen at the Executive Council Chambers of the Governor’s Office, in Ibadan, recently.
He admonished them to shun extravagant lifestyle, insisting that their four-month tenure
was not to commit resources to naming, burial and marriage ceremonies at the expense of
grassroots development. Ajimobi said commonsense dictates that the lean resources accruable to the state and local governments should be committed to people- oriented and legacy projects. He said: “Your appointment is an opportunity for you to dare and endure; not for ease and comfort.
I enjoin you to be guided by the oath of office you just took; have the fear of God in
whatever you do. If you fear God, you will not commit atrocities. ``Please note that nothing will keep you in office beyond four months, as we will be going into elections immediately afterwards. Therefore, use this opportunity to join hands with us to develop this state. Don’t betray the confidence reposed in you.
``I must warn that if you under-perform, you will not even last four months because when you fail, I fail; when you fail, we all fail. But I won’t allow you to fail me. ``You are not elected to service naming ceremonies, marriages and burials. We can’t continue with this retrogressive attitude and expect any meaningful development in our local governments.”
The governor, who touted Oyo as having the largest arable land in the country, urged the
chairmen to join hands with him in his drive for agriculture revolution as an alternative source of income for the state. He also said that the state had the advantage of having the largest concentration of agric research institutes in the country, as well as being the gateway to the North from Lagos, the nation’s commercial centre.
Speaking further on the proposed LG election, Ajimobi said extra-ordinary performance would stand the caretaker committee chairmen in good stead to emerge as candidates in their respective local governments. He admonished the people against piling pressure
on the chairmen for personal favour or seeing them as philanthropists or Father Christmas.
The governor urged the people to change their attitude of seeing council chairmen as automated teller machines (ATM), recommending a change of attitude. ``If you perform well, you have the opportunity to emerge as candidates from your local governments after your four-month tenure. We will not handpick or impose any candidate on the people.
That era is gone for good. No godfather will assist you to win ticket. I will even advise you
against the idea of godfather because they will always ask for more.” ``Quality service is what will assist you to win the people’s confidence. It is also the one that will assist our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rule Oyo State for a very long time. Therefore, let the people feel your impact,’’
he said.

SAKI YOUTHS :ARE YOU READY FOR THE POLITICAL LEADERSHIP OF THE TOWN?

Let me recall that Governor Abiola Isiaka Ajimobi's recent caretaker chairmen contain names of yesteryears politicians and body of old men and Saki town interim chairman is not an exception. Funnily enough,a few number of them are even failed personalities following their previous offices.
Are we going to allow the status quo to continue? Are we going to continue to say that the elders should give us a chance to operate ? The answers to these questions are capital NO. One elder will give the chance unless we are fully ready to be liberated. Are we not members of political parties? The youth dominate the political parties in the town
and are we going to continue to be political thugs, mercenaries and hooligans and how many of us are eying or thinking of picking party forms to vie for the incoming chairmanship election our town?
I want to signally state that the minimum age to run for local government chairmanship is 30 and how many of our 30-40 years old have the zeal to run for this position come June this year? How many youths within the 25 and 35 age bracket are passionate about representing their various wards as councillors and when are we going to have the power shifted to the youth when we do not have passion to lead or do we think that political
power comes on a platter of gold?
If we do not come out to lead our town now, there is no other time. We are in a chance
mantra and if Musliu Obanikoro did not come out and contest for chairmanship position at the age of 34 at Surulere local government council, he would not have contributed his own quotas to the system and nobody will reckon with him today and he ran as at that time without any GOD FATHER, Akeem Ige became the chairman of Ibadan South East local government at the age of 37 years.
Our youths who are politicians must wake up to lead the town as leadership comes with
responsibilities and they must be ready to intelligently contribute to their parties' growth, show willingness to lead and pick forms for chairman elective office where and when
necessary. The youth must not be dissuaded. WHO THEN SAYS YOUTH CANNOT BE
THE NEXT EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF OUR TOWN?

Policeman shots Driver, Blows His Brains Out Over N100 Bribe in Saki,Oyo State

A member of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, Saki branch, Oyo State, Mr Alimi Akeem a.k.a. Sakilayewa, was on Wednesday brutally murdered by a trigger-happy
and wicked policeman, popularly called yellow.
According to sources the victim, who plied Saki to Okerete, was on his way back to Saki when he passed through a checkpoint mounted by Yellow and another policeman at Orita Sanni area, close to Saki town. It's widely reported that the policemen at the checkpoint usually extorted N100 from motorists plying the route.
On the fateful day, late Akeem, who drove a Peugeot 504 (Wagon) with registration number AA997 KMR, did not see Yellow on getting to the checkpoint, but reportedly gave N100 to the young man working as the policeman’s boy, after which he drove on. Yellow, who was said to have noticed the dust raised by Akeem’s vehicle, mounted his motorcycle and chased the driver, with the belief that he tried to evade paying the usual N100. On closing up with the driver, Yellow reportedly shot at one of the vehicle tyre, prompting the deceased to stop and ask why he acted so.
The question was said to have infuriated the policeman, making him to shoot the driver on the head at close range. It was later discovered that the policeman was not serving under the Oyo State Police Command but was attached to force headquarters and posted for border patrol. He was said to have disappeared since the incident and yet to report himself to the Nigeria Police Force or the nearest police station.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, confirmed the story, saying that the Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, had ordered an investigation into the matter.

COULD THE chANgE WE VOTED BE A SCAM?

Many conscientious mediocrity like me might have been worried if we had not made the wrong decision voting for CHANGE, especially at the federal level. I decided to post this after realizing some of the political associates, who on countless number of times, have asked if we had not made a huge mistake voting CHaNgE, and as such decided to resign to a regrettable silence.
But before we scold ourselves let's think about these.
1. Replacing PGEJ in 2015 was indisputably imminent, and the only tested and trusted option was PMB, hence, voting him was never a wrong decision, let's get that straight.
2. The change is not materializing as expected frequency because the Buhari we voted can not act like the Buhari we knew. The Buhari of action was in the military, when he can take actions without recourse to democratic procedure, but now, the so called democratic processes is part of the reason we've not felt the change we voted.
One thing we can be rest assure is that, you will always get justice under PMB. Now I think we can forgive ourselves. I deliberately chose to write chAnGe in this manner of mixing alphabets to portray the unbearable situation we've found ourselves as a country. Even the non living things and animals could feel the pains. People are carrying their phones about looking for where to charge. The power outage coupled with fuel scarcity is a frustrating and unimaginable circumstance.
I'm as worried as every supporter of change, I'm most worried that our President is frustrated and confused by now. Frustrated because he couldn't exercise his power as much as he wants, confused because his appointed ministers he so much believed in couldn't come out with reasonable programs/project Nigerians should be feeling by now.
I'm most disappointed that an administration that based his campaign on a solid propaganda of identifying almost all the problems of the last administration and the need to vote them to solve it, an administration one would expect to hit the ground running, is now full of blame games and excuses.
No man has ever achieved something profound giving excuses and pointing accusing
fingers. As much as this administration deserve a serious objective criticism to get them on their feet, we need to understand there's no GAIN without PAIN. Maybe, this is the pain we need to endure to gain the CHANGE we want. Don't let us just criticize, let's suggest solutions for them when necessary. So that even when they are confused, they can tap from us as concerned citizens.

THE PERENNIAL CONFLICT BETWEEN THE FARMERS AND THE FULANI HERDSMEN.

The incessant crises between the local farmers and the herdsmen are not only worrisome but equally a serious blur to our image as a country within the comity of civilized nations. These clashes left in their wake, loss of lives and destruction of properties of high proportion. One sad thing is that, if time could heal the effect of properties lost to these crises, what of the lives lost?
To make this issue more complicated is that the two categories of persons directly involved, the farmers and the cattle rearers play crucial roles in our daily lives. Coming from an agrarian community and highly populated by the herdsmen, I can still recall vividly several crises between these groups of people in recent past where lives were lost and
properties destroyed with reckless abandon.
I have had cause to enquire from a respected elder and the head of farmers in my community on what could be done to stop this menace? The old man answered my question rhetorically, '
My dear you should know that our farms do not have legs to move to where the cows would
devour our crops, but it is the other way round'. To me, the answer though very brief but weighty and logical. Thus, any attempt to eradicate this social malaise should be directed at how to curtail the cows from going into the farms to graze balancing this with the fact that animals will always be animals, their reasoning could not be likened to that of human beings.
I support the call being made in recent times, that grazing centres should be established throughout the country to eliminate the problem of unlawful grazing on farmlands. I also think that establishing Farmers/Herdsmen Committees at all Local Government Areas in the country will not be out of place, most especially, in areas prone to this nature of crisis. The Composition should include major stakeholders; Farmers, Herdsmen, Police, DSS, Civil Defence Corps and Community leaders. The benefits of the Committee will be two fold, it
will close the communication gaps between the major stakeholders and at the same time
eliminate the activities of the non Nigerian herdsmen who just come into our country like a
thief in the night to wreck havoc by their actions.
The Committees in their modus operandi will have the details of all the farmers as well as that of the herdsmen.
At a time, when poverty and corruption is killing at an alarming rate, this menace should not be allowed to continue, it must stop and the time is now. May all the souls lost in the Agatus/Fulanis crisis in Benue State  rest in perfect peace.

BETWEEN NEW AND FAIRLY-USED PRODUCTS.

The crave for fairly-used products, popularly known as "Tokunbo" is becoming worrisome and affecting our mental psyche. I belong to the School of thought that, no matter what, a fairly- used product cannot be better than a new one. According to Oluomo Lateef Adedigba, he said on two occasions, he have been proved wrong. On the first occasion, he had to change his car bulb and the technician was preaching the gospel of tokunbo bulb to him so passionately as if he was preaching the kingdom of God, he told him emphatically, that the new one would not last.
In annoyance, he directed him to buy the new one, to his surprise, after 3 weeks, the bulb has joined its ancestors.Like a cat beaten by the rain, he was forced to buy the fairly used, which is still functioning up till now, at least more than a year now! About four months now, he had to change the shock absorbers, he went for the new ones as usual. By December, he discovered that one of the rear tyres was a little bit not in the right position.
So he had to go to a different mechanic and on mere sighting the position of the tyre, the first question the mechanic put to him was whether he have just changed the shock absorbers to which he answered in the affirmative. The follow up question was whether those absorbers were new or tokunbo?
He answered gleefully that he bought new ones. His reply was so sharp, haa Oga, they would not last, once you enter a pothole, they would bend. Immediately, he removed the shock absorber, his position was 100 percent correct. From, the little reports we had on the accident that claimed the lives of Ocholi SAN, his wife and son, it was reported that the accident was caused due to one of the tyres of the vehicle.
I presume that the tyre would not be a fairly used one. What manners of products are being imported into this country in terms of quality and what are the appropriate regulatory bodies doing about the quality of products being brought into the country? The last Senate at a time, invited the Chinese foreign official to explain why most of the products being brought into our country are of lower quality.
While denying this accusation, he explained further, that the importers get what they want! What is the difference between a fraudulent importer of inferior goods and an armed robber or a corrupt official? By their actions, the end result is the same. It is not unusual these days to buy a common bulb that is dead on arrival. This problem has affected our reasoning so much so that, a person who want to buy a fairly used vehicle would still be asking whether the vehicle has a second hand value! Second hand value for a fairly used car?  The Govt should empower the appropriate agencies viz, the Standard Organisation of Nigeria, Consumers Protection Council and other similar agencies with all necessary support to curb this menace.

Nigeria and the flood of corruption.

Corruption basically is an illegal extortion of capital and recurrent material of a given society which could later leads to shortage of material or loss of life and disarray among the society. Corruption is not new to every Nigerian in the sense that a five years old child has ambition of looting the country hotcakes. This so called social vices has eaten the nooks and cranes of our nation, leaders are nowhere to be trust from grassroot to apex level, the upcoming one also nowhere to be trust. Corruption has loom from local level to federal level in Nigeria that war against it was proved abortive. In the year 1999 when president olusegun obasanjo was sworn in as Nigeria president, he vowed in his inaugural speech that corruption combat would be the utmost thing for him to fight but later he turned way round, his administration was among the most corrupt era in Nigeria even the so called economic and financial crime commission (EFCC) was established but the dog was turned toothless in other not to bit the hunters Rabbit. Nuhu RIbadu was appointed and sacked due to shady and stinky act that he wanted to expose. The same thing goes to farida waziri in goodluck Jonathan regime, they turned Nigeria politics into world Bank without door and security for thief to loot, they injected the spirit of corruption into the mind of every Nigerian, they change the culture of every tribe in the country which turned against corruption before but now friendly with it. The so call Nigeria government drinks water of corruption, shower with it and even gave birth to corruption. This so called corruption has triggered it's gun and sprayed the bullet over every Nigeria sector. In one way or the other everybody in the country is corrupt nobody is Holy. The mosque, the church, Temple and schools have corrupted. Those institutions to serve as main tentacles in waging war against it are the one embracing it. Why Nigerian? Let change from these attitude, although corruption it's in every part of the world and we cannot kill it but let minimize it to the lowest level. More so, if to say the problem caused by lack of agency but there Alot of agency created for combating it but they've changed their primary motive and turned to tools of looting. We have many laws in Nigeria but implementation of it is the main problem. EFCC, ICPC, CCT, The banking monitoring act and the budget price monitoring were created for the purpose of minimising corruption but they are not effective in the course of doing their primary objectives. Now another government has started his own way of fighting this so called corruption, although this man is not new to us in his strategic way of doing so, in early mid 1980's during Buhari/idiagbon military regime they tried to relinquish corruption but they were overthrown in doing so. Now he has started the anti graft my prayer for him is to not get killed because many corrupted personnel were wishing him dead. To put the pen at the last margin, my own exhortation for every Nigerian is that corruption cannot leave this country by saying it orally but the main thing to do is behaviour and ambition rebuilding, let emulate new behaviour, let support the ongoing government in doing so because the rotten egg odour is not for the owner only but for every neighbour around him. This country belong to us let embrace the attitude of corruption free for the betterment of our own future and tommorrow generation.

The ancient city of Ibadan was locked down as the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji (Aje Ogungunniso 1) was installed by the Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, at the historic Mapo Hall arcade, Ibadan, on Friday. He relayed the laid down processes and elevations a would-be Olubadan is expected to go through before becoming the king from the Balogun line as 23, which, he said, the newly crowned king had fulfilled before being selected by the Olubadan-in-council. In his maiden address to the people, the new Olubadan appreciated dignitaries and citizens of Ibadan that made the occasion unique, especially Ajimobi and other governors that attended the event, Olubadan-in-council, traditional rulers, and other well-wishers. He enjoined the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency create the Ibadan State and upgrade the status of the Ibadan airport to an International standard. Olubadan said, "I appreciate you all for according me this honour as represented by this historic coronation ceremony, especially the Oyo State Government and my Chiefs that have been working around the clock for the success of this day. My special request goes to Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu to as a matter of urgency work for the creation of Ibadan State, and to do everything possible to upgrade Ibadan Airport to an International standard." Ese and Yunusa the lover birds

Theirs is but a story of young lovers blinded by their naivity of how that intense emotional affairs in which they both got entangled could be cautiously handled. They won't let each other go, they are prepared to dare the consequences of their actions. Ese,17, eloped with her 18 year-old lover, Yunusa. Such things happen every now and then in our society. It's not good for us, it's an insult on our cultures and norms, it brings pains and anguish to the parents, it ushers shame upon the values we cherish and call our own. Ese's case is not the first and may not be the last. Their story only got complicated by her conversion from her religion to another and also due to her lover coming from across the Niger, given the circumstantial intolerance that has set up perpetual hatred among the various tribes in our clime. Some shallow minds serve upon us their rhetorics "what would have happened if Ese was an Aishat from Kano and Yunusa a John from Bayelsa?" One can as well answer them that kano Emirate could have emptied the city of her warriors to wipe out every living thing in Bayelsa! The narratives has it that she is a street hawker and her lover, a Keke NAPEP rider. They have been in romantic relationship for several months right in Bayelsa. She decided to elope with Yunusa having realised her hope of becoming his wife is threatened by dichotomy in their cultures and religion. Her parents, who, though, probably care a little or not at all about how she lives or earn a living at such a fragile age, may eventually not bless their union. It takes a discerning mind to see the picture as what it exactly looks like; a story of two blind lovers. It sounds somewhat stupid to any clear-headed thinker hearing this case being described as an abduction. My people say "don't even try to smell a candy you cannot afford to taste" a renowned blogophile, Aishat Alubankudi argues Ese's Parents equally need to be lashed in the mess. 'Why has she not been in school?' 'Why is she a street hawker?' One may want to add 'what have they done when she has been dating Yunusa all this while? Did Yunusa arrive in Bayelsa one night and stole Ese back to Kano at the day break? Was Ese taken care off as an adolescent prone to all sorts of infantutions and monetary temptations capable of making her fall for a Keke Napep rider?

THE NEED FOR A PRIVATE RADIO STATION IN SAKI OKEOGUN

The provision of information and skills has gained popularity in the quest to empower communities with Radio stations but private one as a unique and effective tool. The establishment of a private radio station in our town will reflect both the improvements in information technologies and the shifting of development paradigm towards a more participatory style of information and knowledge transfer. The radio station will serve as an avenue for participatory communication and as a tool relevant in political, economic and social development. This type of private radio in our community will be a type of radio station that will offer a model of radio broadcasting both commercial and public service. The private radio broadcasting will serve geographical communities and the rest of the world's interest. If this radio station is operated, owned, and driven in our community , it will help widely the dissemination of information and also help tremendously the owner as his image will be widely spread. The private radio will be profit-oriented and also provide a mechanism for facilitating individuals, groups, and communities to tell their own diverse stories, to share experiences, and in a media rich world to become active creators and contributors of media. In many parts of the world today, radio acts as a vehicle for the community and voluntary sector, civil society, agencies, NGOs and citizens to work in partnership to promote community development. According to Salam Saheed a reporter, said he heard a lenghty chat with one of the illustrious child of our town who works as a presenter in a private radio station in Mina,Niger state yesterday and he was very worried about the deformation of our people in Okeogun area."We began our chat based on sporting news from our town and he mademade me understand that we do not have any investigative journalist in that area and he was saddened despite that we have sport complex where Athletes partake on daily basis". He said, he met with one of the business tycoons/moguls in our town last year,in person of chief Tejubiyi Isiack Ishola on the need for the establishment of a private radio station in the town but he was very pessimistic about the chance of success of the station if established. He was afraid of its prematured death in the town attributing that to the muslim /christian matter. What rattles me most is that we have more than enough business men and women in our town who can afford to build a private radio station in the town and it will be the first radio station in Okeogun area . This station will market not only the station far and wide but also the entrepreneurer. More talent will be unleased and it will also boost the employment opportunity in our town and zone at large. Though, a radio station is a long term project whereby it does not provide instance returns but in a long run,it will yield more results than expected. Someone told me recently that our political office holders should be able to harness with foreigners to come and invest on a private radio station in Okeogun and I wonder the capital base of owing one. It is less that 40 million naira and must we be looking for outsiders before one can be built in our area? This can be pioneered by one of us. We know how much they use to build petrol stations and we know how many of the filling stations some personalities have and why cant they remove their thinking caps and give us one radio station, I can bet you that it will yield a desirable result and history will never forget such a person that reasons in that direction. The first radio station in Ibadan was established by an Ibadan indigene, popularly known as Agba Akin,Chief Adebayo Akande and I know that this Eminent will be remembered for life. The station has been the voice of the voiceless and it has really gingered politicians to do more and more projects and implement their roadmaps. The station has now given birth to nothing less than seven other private radio stations in the city. His name will never die in the history of Ibadan . His name is written in gold already despite the fact that he is alive and kicking. This can be fast-tracked by an indigene of our town and I can bet you that he or she will be remembered for good. One will not lose having a private radio station because it is naturally profit driving project. We know how much per slot for a jingle and programme. We have alot of filling station owners who died recently and nobody remembers them again because they did not invest in human lives.

NOA –NAF PARTNER ON RE-ORIENTATION OF NIGERIANS

In the face of dwindling national consciousness and patriotic orientation, the National Orientation Agency has embarked on inter Agencies partnership aimed at propagating national ethos and ginger citizenship participation in moving the nation forward. One of such areas of partnership has been the Agency’s seeking collaboration with relevant stakeholders on how to stem the ugly tide of insurgency and other anti-social behaviors now pervasive in the country. It is in line with this development that the NOA Oyo State Director Mrs. Dolapo Dosumu took another bold stride to seek the cooperation of the Nigerian Air Force in actualizing the Agency’s goal. The NOA Director who visited the Nigeria Air Force Commander, Air Commodore Emmanuel Akinbayo the Air Force Detachment Ibadan used the rare opportunity provided by that visit to task the officers to be fully engaged in lending its voice to the change agenda of the Federal Government on value re-orientation and attitudinal change in citizens and further up their ante to fight against insurgency frontally and save the nation from its adverse effect cum other issues of insecurity. The State Director also noted wanton negligence of the National symbols by the public which has almost become a norm. She has therefore called on public and private institutions to pay allegiance to the National Symbols such as the National Flag, National Anthem/Pledge, Nigerian Constitution, Nigerian currency, Coat of Arms etc as a mark of patriotism and National pride. The Commander of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Emmanuel Akinbayo in his response pledged to NOA its readiness and maximum cooperation whenever the need arises as partner in National development. It will be recalled that the NOA has in recent past paid working visits to the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army amongst others where the Director emphasized the need for synergy in the course of oiling the wheel of National progress and the imperative of using collective approach not only to the issue of corruption, but also in the fight against insurgency.

Epileptic power supply in Nigeria

These days, majority of the people sleep at the backyard or outside their rooms due to the persistence heat, scarcity and exorbitant price of petroleum to on generator from 8:00pm-3:00am and epileptic power supply. Though, some people always have maximum utility of the breeze but I must speak up here due to the dastard state of the country's electricity which has very depressing signal. Let me recall that our source met and interviewed the manager of the Power Holding company of Nigeria , Saki chapter,in person of Mr. Lucky at the middle of last year and explained that the crux of the matter in consonance with our irregular power supply. Out of his analyses, the power line is the core of the subject matter and if this power line is not available,no way out for the town's electricity. He said, We are talking about the resuscitation of Ikere dam, this Ikere Dam can only increase our megawats but not regulating the unstable power supply. With regards,it is very important for us to note that more efforts and steps must be intensified and be able to lobby more from the federal government for this power line similar to that of Iseyin Okeogun. We are fortunate enough to have federal minister with a first class portfolio and this can be channeled through him. Although,it has been stationed to him by the Parapo team but his political cohorts must be reminding him on a regular base because they are closest to him as this can only save the town's electricity from its retrogressing. I am saying this because majority of his Vanguard may not harnessed this but only be advocating for what will benefit them only and we must not forget that he was appointed and not elected and who knows what tomorrow may tell. We must make judicious use of his opportunity. Also,we have federal lawmaker and Senator representing Oyo North senatorial district. This can also be channeled through them. Our source spoke with Senator Fatai Buhari sometime on this but he later turned his deaf eyes to it and since then, we have stopped contacting him due to his dereliction. Their closest associates must try to place their fingers on this.
