Oyo CJ expresses shock at judge's request for early retirement

The Chief Judge of Oyo state, Justice Muntar Abimbola, on Friday, stated that he was shocked when he saw the letter written by Hon. Justice Misitura Agbaje-Oladeinde, intimating that she wanted to voluntarily bow out of service two years earlier than the expected statutory retirement age provided by the rule, adding that his questions concerning the early exit remains unanswered.
“It was a letter written by My Lord addressed to His Excellency about an early voluntary exit. To say the least, I was shocked. All questions as to why such step is deemed necessary were unanswered till date. After much discussions and persuasions
which are in effective, I gave up and did as requested.”
These were the words of Justice Abimbola during his opening speech at a special valedictory court session held in Court 1 of the State High Court, Ring road,
Ibadan, in honor of Justice Agbaje-Oladeinde, who took a bow out of service on the
occasion of her birthday.According to the Chief Judge, during their discussions, he
looked at the composure, gait temperance and composure of Justice Agbaje-Oladeinde and he realized that she is not tired, adding that, “the question as to why the decision is made will remain a puzzle and in the realm of guess until she gives the answer (maybe today).
“By that decision, we are today bidding farewell to a partner together with whom we
traversed the judicial terra cotta for the past 18 years, we started the judicial journey when we were sworn in on the 30th of January, 1997 by Col. Ahmed Usman at the Parliament Building, Secretariat, Ibadan.
“May I have the honour on behalf of the other remaining partner, My Lord Hon. Justice S.A.
Akinteye and my other brother judges to pay this tribute to your dedication to duty, your
commitment, your mentoring, sisterly and motherly role in this past 18 years.
"I have my Lords’ authority to express our feelings of friendship and how you will be
missed. We wish you a long and happy life and fulfilling life beyond the bench. A chapter
ends but new horizons beacons and await you,” Justice Abimbola stated.
In her reply, Justice Agbaje-Oladeinde stated that her 36 years of service both in the
Ministry of Justice and on the High Court bench was due to the help of God and her late father, who was the first Ibadan lawyer, adding that her greatest regret is that her father did not live to see her qualify as a lawyer. Justice Agbaje-Oladeinde also observed that in the past, hierarchy of judges was based on seniority at the bar, adding that the system worked very well until it was jettisoned for no reason.
“I am of the view that when new judges are appointed, their age at the bar should always be
the criterion on which the hierarchy should be built so that it will not breed bad blood among judges appointed together. A minute’s seniority natters in our noble profession,” she said. Speaking on why she retired before the statutory retirement age, Justice Agbaje Oladeinde said, “I will not say much but I shall sum up the reasons in three Yoruba proverbs; Iku to pa Ojugba eni, owe nla lo npa fun ni, Bi enia ba pe lori imi, esin kesin lo ma ba nibe, ki oju ma ribi, gbogbo ara ni ogun e. I intend to write a book of my 19 years on the bench, then the proverbs above will become meaningful.

But while one of the Islamic leaders was explaining how a new imam is installed, the group walked out the sources. It feigned ignorance about the sources visit and enquiries, threatening to harm the visitors, if they fail to leave the venue. The Muslim cleric said there were four contenders for the position: Alh Bilau Shittu, Alh Mudasiru Adedeji, Alh Abdul Kareem Oloore and Alh Dauda Ajeigbe. Oyedokun said two of the contenders had been screened out while Alh Oloore and Alh Ajeigbe were the main contenders.
The committee chairman wondered why some people were making a false announcement that Alh Oloore had been selected. Federal Government ends kerosene subsidy, to sell for N83 per litre

The federal government, weekend hiked the price of Household kerosene also known as kerosene, to N83 per litre from N50 per litre, thereby, officially ending subsidy on the product.
The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, in its product pricing template released over the weekend, however, stated that the N83 per litre price applies only to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), meaning that other petrol stations and dealers can sell higher than the stipulated amount.
Curiously, the hike in the price of kerosene was coming at the time when the price of crude oil had dropped to record low, with the price of Petroleum products, such as kerosene, fuel and diesel, among others, dropping significantly in the number of countries, like the United States.
This also brings to question, the recent reduction in the price of Premium motor spirit, announced by the Federal government and which commenced at the beginning of the year. Again, the PPPRA's template also showed that at N83 per litre, the Federal government is making a gain of N10.72 for every litre, as it puts the expected open market price is the prevailing open market rate for the product in Nigeria, after taking certain costs into consideration.
Giving a breakdown of the price, the PPPRA template put the landing cost of the product at N57.98 per litre, while the total margin due middlemen was at N14.30. Further breakdown of the total margins showed that retailers margin was put at N5 per litre, Transporters #3.05 per litre, Dealers #1.95 per litre, Bridging fund #5.85 per litre, Marine Transport Average #0.15 and Admin charges #0.15.
The  PPPRA further put official ex-depot price which is the price deport owners would sell at marketers at #68.70 per litre, official ex-depot of price for collection #73 per litre, while ex-coastal price #68.02 per litre.

The minister of communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, has suspended the Director general of National information technology development agency (NITDA), Peter Jack, for "misconduct unbecoming of a public officer of his cadre". Mr Jack's suspension, which takes effect from January 20th 2016, was contained in a statement by the special assistant on media to the hon. Minister of communication Barrister Shittu, Victor Oluwadamilare, on Wednesday.

Press release by Hon Shittu

The Federal government has warned mobile telecommunication providers to treat Nigerians with decency and play by the rules or face sanctions. The minister of communication, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, gave the warning in a statement issued by his special assistant media, Mr. Victor Oluwadamilare, in Abuja on Wednesday.
The statement was issued shortly after the minister met with top officials of MTN Nigeria communications Limited behind closed doors. Shittu decried the manner Nigerians, especially women, were being treated by telecommunications operators in their bid to comply with the directives issued by the Nigerian communications commission on the registration of subscriber identification module cards.
The statement read in part, "The minister's office has been inundated with several complains from Nigerians, particularly women in veil, about the way they were being treated, sometimes humiliated by the workers of the telecommunications companies nationwide.
" According to some of the complaints, 'Women in purdah dresses were requested to remove their veils in the public, despite the request by such women that a place should be provided out of the public glare for only female officials to attend to them, adding that all entreaties failed, but rather, they were allegedly accused of being Boko haram agents and they were refused registration after several altercations in some of the registration centres".
The minister frowned on the development and urged the telecommunications companies involved to accord maximum respect to Nigerians from all walks of life, particularly women, whose feminine nature and religious dispositions should be cherished.
Shittu said the Nigerian constitution guaranteed the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion for all citizens, adding that such rights should never be violated by executive or administrative lawlessness, highhandedness and insensitivity.
He asked the telecoms companies to tender unreserved apologies, saying it was inhuman and unacceptable to treat Nigerians in a cruel manner. Even the rights of minorities should be respected, he added.
The minister was quoted as saying, "The inhumane treatment meted out to Nigerians in the course of the ongoing SIM reregistration exercise in the country, where subscribers were made to suffer untold hardships, mostly in the scorching sun and unbearable conditions, is no longer acceptable. It will no longer be business as usual.
" If the experiences of smaller countries like Rwanda are anything to go by ,where operators play according to rules and where infractions are usually met with stiff penalties, telecoms companies in the country have to brace up or face the brunt of their inadequacies.

Nigerians and 2016 budget

In a bid to know what people have to say about the 2016 budget, Aloyinlapa Samiu, Managing Director and Chief Executive OfficerOfficer Go-global Exclusive Services in his opinion said, he is aware the 2016 budget contains about 1800 pages and that's enough a benefit of doubt for him as per whether Mr President was able to intimate himself with the details, considering the unimaginable rise in allocation to some needless areas when our economy is sinking.
However, he said, he has been silent for too long, but this budget provoked his latent dissatisfaction. Increasing domestic spending from N580 million to N1.7 billion, renovating of Aso rock villa with about N3.9 billion among others are quite worrisome. A senator observed part of the adjustment made after the presidency requested to correct errors in the budget was removing N7 billion from buying vehicle and spread it over offices.
Sadly, this is a budget that's increased by 30% based on borrowing and unrealistic forecast, because the budget assumed oil price/barel at $38 when the price as at now is below $30/barrel. Nigerians are worried this is not the kind of change they campaigned for. Is Mr President not aware of everything in this budget? he asked.
Furthermore, Jayeola Yusuf Ade said, this government needs to wake up from their slumber and stop blaming everything on former President Goodluck Jonathan. Obama met shamble economy in the state and he really blame Bush led government. This budget is a total fraud and it has died on its arrival, we are back to square one and even pray not to be worst.

Dasuki drags FG to ECOWAS Court because of continued detention

The former National Security Adviser (NSA), col. Muhammed Sambo Dasuki (retd), has filed a law suit against the Federal Government before the ECOWAS court in Abuja over his continued detention. In the suit filed by the lawyer, Robert Emukpoeruo, Dasuki wants the court to declare among other things that his continued detention after having been granted bail by three different courts and met the conditions for his release, was "unlawful, arbitrary and an egregious violation" of his human rights.
Sources report that the former NSA is demanding that the sum of N500 million damages be paid for alleged rights infringement.
Also, the former NSA wants the sub- regional court to declare that the alleged invasion of his privacy, home and correspondence at his Abuja and Sokoto residences on July 16 and 17, 2015, and the " forceful and unlawful seizure " of his properties, "without any lawful order or warrant" constituted a gross violation of his fundamental rights and offended the country's treaty obligations as a signatory to the listed legal instruments.
Dasuki is also urging the ECOWAS court to order his release forthwith. This is even as a federal high court in Abuja yesterday order the federal government to produce him by February 16, the next adjournment date. Justice Ademola Adeniyi in his order said the court has not excused his absence and that Dasuki must be physically present to face the criminal charges against him.
Dasuki was arrested last November for allegedly diverting the $2.1 billion meant to aid in the fight against the Boko haram insurgency in the north east. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is currently probing the $2.1 billion arms contract scandal involving Dasuki. So far, over 20 prominent Nigerians and politicians have been implicated in the arms deal scandal.

National Assembly Lawmakers and Nigerians Security

Recently from media report, the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki  called for security beefup in the national Assembly. Coincidentally, the speaker of the house of representative, Yakubu Dogara also on Tuesday lamented that sergeant at arms in the country were well equipped to protect lawmakers. Indeed, complimenting statement.
At this point, the question that needs to be answered is, is the priority also given to the security of over 160m of Nigerians? Most importantly when the leader of both assembly are not calling for adequate security of Nigerians. When will our leaders attach value to the life of the citizens of this nation?
The developed nations like USA in all ramifications attached importance to the lives of their citizens having realised that every citizen's security will guarantee their potentials to contribute immensely to their socio-economic development. Undoubtedly, each citizen is committed and ready to shed their blood to ensure the development of the country. This had lead to the nation rapid development in research, technological advancement and overall economic growth that transform into economic development.
All the above scenario was justified during last year spread of Ebola when the American government did everything possible to urgently save the life of America from Liberia for better and urgent treatment.
The present administration of president Muhammad Buhari calling "Change begins with me", zero tolerance for corruption and diversification of Economy are and cannot in both short and long run solve Nigeria problems without both theoretically and emperically attached great value to the life of Nigerians so that citizens can think, act and plan positive for our dear country.

Tinubu not elated on Mass Defection of members of PDP to APC

In a bid to know what people have to say about mass defection of PDP members to APC, Amako Nneji said, he is afraid PDP will stop Buhari in 2019. Tinubu lately said, the mass defection of members from the opposition People's  Democratic party (PDP), to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), might have grave repercussions on the 2019 succession plan of President Muhammadu Buhari. The National leader of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, gave this disclosure while speaking to Newsmen and hinted at the possibility of Buhari spending a single tenure in office.
Tinubu added that the influx of the PDP members, "will crumble the APC", especially, if President Buhari decides to do just a term. Earlier, the former Governor of Enugu state, Jim Nwobodo, and the senator representing Anambra central senatorial district, Uche Ekunife, had recently defected to the APC. A chieftain of the PDP, in Ekpoma, Esan west local government area of Edo state, Stephen Emuan, also defected to APC.
Reacting to this, Tinubu maintained that, he did not celebrate the defection of PDP politicians no matter the status, therefore warning that they are a disaster in the making. " The president Buhari I know has very good intentions for Nigeria, and he would want to handover to someone he deems not to be corrupt.
"It is even possible that the president already has a successor in mind. And the danger is this; at the fullness of time, these PDP defectors, will form an unholy alliance with some politicians in APC and across the board, to thwart the president's succession plan. And that will be the end of the APC, and a new rising for the PDP".
Tinubu stressed further, " l'm not elated about the news of former senators, and even serving ones, defecting to the APC. Even if a Governor from the opposition defects today, I will not celebrate it.
"I think the president should be leery and extremely cautions of these PDP defectors, and should not give them any serious responsibilities. Because of the appropriate time, they will manifest great evil and disaster against the president and the APC", he added.
Recently, Tinubu had described as " padded ", the budgetary figures in 2016 Appropriation bill of N6.8 trillion, presented to the joint session of the National Assembly by the president, which has now been alleged missing. This disappointment was expressed through an  Editorial titled " Curious Figures".

Nigeria is a Banana Republic in Record time

In a bid to know people's opinions on government policies and Buhari's Administration, Babatunde O. Gbadamosi said, president Buhari and his APC cheer leaders have finally succeeded in their efforts to turn Nigeria into a banana republic. Under Buhari's rule, we have gone from being the largest economy in Africa to being a poorly ran economy.
He stressed further that Nigeria was once the fastest growing economy in Africa. Just 8 months ago, Nigeria is no longer in the top 10. The Naira has lost more than 40% of its value in the 8 months that Buhari has ruled Nigeria.
President Buhari himself announced that he would not respect court judgment that goes against his beliefs. We are officially lawless. President Jonathan set up a public healthcare architecture that tired Ebola into the epidemic that never happened in Nigeria, of course with the heroic efforts of the late Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh and her colleagues, we only lost 3 Nigerians to Ebola. Lassa Fever has killed over 40 Nigerians so far documented within the last two weeks and Buhari government has not made any significant effort to tackle this deadly epidemic.
For the first time in the history of Nigeria, and perhaps the world, the National Assembly has been presented with two ridiculous budgets, both emanating from the presidency, and neither of which has been denied, this after the disgraceful drama of the missing budget. Buhari appointed his relation as INEC Chairman and the result has been their disgraceful conduct of elections in Kogi and Bayelsa state, and the entrance into common Nigerian lexicon of the word "inconclusive". Buhari's record on security, despite his pedigree as a retired General, has been abysimal, to be frank. The chibok girls have not been found, and Buhari has absolved himself of responsibility by telling their parents that their abduction did not happen on his watch.
One abduction that did happen on his watch, the kidnapping of 170 girls from the village of Bam, has enjoyed a conspiracy of silence by both the local and the international media and Buhari's government.
Finally, he said, tie all these in with the unbelievable actions of some of Buhari's ministers and appointees, and you get a sinking feeling in your stomach. Nigeria is officially a Banana republic, run on rumour, innuendo and the whims and caprices of its aged Emperor and his powerful minions.

Areoye Oyebola Endorse Oke-ogun to produce the next Oyo state Governor

Chief Areoye Oyebola a pastor, an elder statesman, an author of several books including best selling 'Black Man's Dilemma and former managing Director of Daily Times Newspaper. Chief Areoye Oyebola a former governorship candidate in 1992 and the Chief convener of MNTT, Movement For Nigeria's Transformation and Transfiguration.
According to Ismail Bimpe Adewoyin, who was in his office recently at Board Publications Limited, Oluyole industrial Estate Ibadan said, it is a good thing if an Oke-ogun man can become the next Governor of Oyo state. You see, we Ibadan will continue to dominate the governance if there's no objections or voices heard from you people. After all, Ogbomoso has been Governor. I personally support you people to produce the next Governor of the state.
However, when asked, should we take this as your endorsement of Oke-ogun area to produce the next Governor, he said absolutely yes. You can count on my support. You Oke-ogun people just need to be united. God's willing, you will get what you desire.
According to Abubakar Sarafadeen, he said, only through unified effort and God's decree can make us realise this dream. Thus, all Oke-ogun hands must be on deck, as we know that united we stand, divided we fall.
Furthermore, Ismail Bimpe Adewoyin in his own opinion said, unity of Oke-ogun is between the people of Oke-ogun. He is of the opinion and confident that Oke-ogun people will get it right this time. The so called dreaded Ibadan mafia and supposed opposition in Oke-ogun have started trouping to Honourable minister's house and office for one favour. At least, a political icon is emerging in Oke-ogun and very soon, more of his likes will also emerge.

Putting the Record Straight

$2.1 billion arms money is the Biggest propaganda of 2015. I have been following the so called Dasuki gate and I am amazed at how easy it is for a government to use the media to deceive and distract the ignorant masses.
History has shown that propaganda remains the biggest tool of any government that intends to enslave people. Unfortunately, even the current opposition has been quite incompetent in putting the records straight.
For the records, there is nothing like a $2.1 billion arms money. It was a propaganda masterstroke well concotted by the DSS and EFCC to distract everyone from the incompetence of the Buhari administration. That is why former President Goodluck Jonathan has come out twice now to put the records straight that he never approved any $2.1 billion arms money. But it seems the ignorant masses still don't get it. So where did the "$2.1 billion arms money" headline originate from?
$2.1 billion was the monies that was allocated to the office of the NSA through out Dasuki's tenure as NSA. These monies come under security vote. It was not money allocated to the purchase of weapons as the DSS and the EFCC have claimed. That is why they can't take Dasuki to court.
They will lose woefully. Security vote is not money allocated for arms purchased. Of the whole monies that makes up the $2.1 billion, only the $300 million from the returned Abacha loot was actually recommend for the purpose of arms. That is why in court, the charges brought against Dasuki was in that range. But they are likely going to lose in court for that because weapons were actually purchased. Whether they are worth $300 million is what the EFCC will have to prove in court. But from the way they have been refusing to follow the court process, one is safe to assume that they don't trust their own case against Dasuki.
But why did they go with the headlines of $2.1 billion arms purchase money" when they knew it was not the case? Because the whole anti corruption fight was only a propaganda stunt from the beginning. It was a well crafted stunt to distract the masses and persecute any dissenting voice so Buhari can fully consolidate power. Does that mean I think many of the politicians mentioned in the scandal are clean? By no means! Nigerian politicians are corrupt without a doubt including the presidency and everyone in the ruling APC party.
The president's campaign itself was sponsored from corruption. The Amaechi corruption scandals are well documented with very strong evidence. If Dasuki has stolen any funds, he should be prosecuted accordingly, but the media propaganda and charade has got to stop. Media trial is injustice in itself. I find it really deceitful when I see lines like " what will you tell the Nigerian soldiers that didn't have weapons to fight and were killed because Dasuki shared the arms money ". That is nothing but propaganda and trying to appeal to sentiments to push a narrative. If that were the case, what has the same military been using to fight boko haram in the past 8 months since Buhari has not bought any new weapons?
What weapons did the army use to push back boko  haram prior to the 2015 election? Did they push boko haram back with their bare hands too? Even Lie Mohammed claims boko haram has been defeated. With which weapons did the army defeat boko haram? With their bare hands? It is important we put all these straight so we don't fall for cheap propaganda by a government that has completely lost its way.
The same government that claims they are fighting corruption came out with a terrible corruption laden budget where they intended to connect cables from the president's residence to the drivers residence with N 300 million. In fact, the budget of yams was so laden with corruption that they had to shamelessly withdraw it.
The world has changed. If the current government thinks they will continue to rule with propaganda, they should think again because they will be exposed again and again.

LG Election Will Hold in Six months- Ajimobi

Oyo state Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has declared that he would organize Local Government Elections in the next six months just as he would not appoint commissioners soon.
Speaking on a talk show aired on a private radio station, splash FM, Ibadan recently, Ajimobi said that he would appoint caretaker chairman to run the 33 local governments in the state this month, while elections into the councils would be conducted before the end of June 2016.
Ajimobi added that he was in no rush to appoint commissioners and other members of his cabinet, noting that government formulated policies with inputs from permanent Secretaries of ministries, and not with commissioners.
"We will organize local government election within the next six months. We should have been able to settle court cases on the matter before then. We didn't conduct local government elections because there was a court case. But, we have been able to withdraw the court case.
Once we appoint caretaker chairmen this month, we will have local government election before end of June." I decided not to appoint commissioners yet because some of the ministries functions very well. Commissioners are political appointees, policies are not formulated by them. The government with input from the permanent secretaries formulate policies. Commissioners are the political heads of these ministries.
"So, if we want to bring in the commissioners, we need to first study all the aspects of each ministry. I don't want to let the cat out of the bag. Just wait, at the appropriate time, we will appoint them. I will appoint them at the time that I fix. It can even be in the next two years but I won't do it alone for four years".
Ajimobi, also disclosed that the decision of former governor, Chief Adebayo Alao Akala and his followers to join the All Progressive Congress (APC) was not connected with a speculated agreement to apportion some political positions to one of Alao Akala's sons or some of his associates.
" ln politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies, we only have permanent interests. And once our interests are congruent, what is wrong in having Alao Akala in our party. He didn't kill my brother or daughter. He says he likes what we have and is joining us, so what is the problem?.
"He is not joining us to run the state. Alao Akala is not joining Ajimobi. He is joining the APC. If someone wants to join the party and embraces how we run government, what is wrong in that?"
"Akala never asked for anything, he impressed me. He never asked for any position like some other  people did in the past. Akala and I never sat down to discuss appointments or position sharing. Never, Never".
" l am not giving Alao Akala and his men anything for joining APC because we did not negotiate that.
Ajimobi who also hinted that gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic party (SDP) ,Mr Seyi Makinde was set to join the APC, likened APC to a movement on a mission to convert people to seeing the need for good governance.
"There is nothing wrong in Akala joining my party. That is good sportsmanship. Seyi Makinde is joining the party. This APC is a movement. It is not about individuals, it is about  philosophy. Even if Ladoja wants to come, let him come. We have a system, a system of accountability, performance, transparency and  efficiency. We must talk to people and convert them. The movement is to convert people and make them see things the way we see them", he said.

Minister of information and culture, Alh Lai Muhammed disclosed this at a meeting with the Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria (BON) in Abuja yesterday, to enlist their support in the on going war against terrorism, said the new attitudinal change programme was tagged "change Begins with me", adding that the National Orientation Agency (NOA), with offices across the 774 local government councils will be saddled with the responsibility of driving it.
He further explained that another campaign against corruption would also be unveiled shortly after the commencement of the" Change Begins with Me " programme.
Aware that some members of BON are privately owned outfits that need to make money to remain afloat, the minister argued that they could only carry out their operations when the nation is at peace. He equated the situation in the country to war, reiterating that the media cannot afford to be neutral at this time.
"This war against terror is our war,not the military's was", he stated charging them to assist government in disseminating security awareness campaign messages across the country. The minister said the essence of the campaign was to educate Nigerians on the need to support the military which, according to him, had availed itself creditability in the battle.
It was also aimed at alerting the citizenry to the need to be more security conscious, to be able to identify Improvised Exposure Device (IEDs), the weapon of choice deployed by the Jihadi terrorists.
Another reason was for the campaign is that Nigerians be able to identify suicide bombers before they are able to strike since " they live amongst us ". Muhammadu explained that the messages will be produced in various local languages to make them more potent. He also alleged that some beneficiaries of corruption who did not want the nation to be at peace were behind the funding of the Boko Haram insurgency from proceeds of corruption.
" we believe that the change we so desire must start with each and every one of us, if it is to endure. The change must also come from within the heart rather than being forced ", the minister stated.
On a request by one of the BON members that the government should assist them in protecting broadcast installation, the minister said he would reach out to the inspector General of police, to provide security to all broadcasting premises and facilities Nationwide.

Controversy on Ban of Long Hijab by Federal Government Emanating from NIMC Office Ibadan

The National identity management commission (NIMC) is a commission of the federal government with the mandate to ensure registration and provision of national identity for all Nigerians through data, finger and photograph of every individual that goes to registration exercise.
The report from Ibadan, Oyo state office of the commission revealed that Muslim women with hijab that goes for the exercise were denied registration if they can not remove their hijab. The issue if not properly and urgently checked can trigger religious crisis because of the volatility of the state.
It shall be recalled that the Presidency had earlier issued a press release that it did not ban and neither plan to ban the use of hijab in the country. Therefore, where and how does the officials of NIMC got their information of the ban? As a matter of fact, the rumour emanated from the presidential media chat in January when a question was asked from president Muhammadu Buhari on how to manage the cases of incessant suicide bombers that were using hijab to perpetrate the evil. The president though in his response said, if the incident continues in that manner, the government may consider temporarily, ban the uses of long hijab in the north east.
Certainly, the president remark started generating series of controversy among Nigerians that led to the press release earlier mentioned. The government at any level and their Agencies and commissions should know that attaching importance to peace and unity of the nation and fundamental human right of individual citizens must not be infringe upon.

Nigeria politicians do not have ideologies

"Nigeria politicians do not have ideologies, roadmaps, blueprints, discipline and disciplinary procedures to camp, decamp and recamp parties. This is the opinion of Salam Saheed a member of saki youth forum.
He said, politicians cross-carpet to any party they like with their beliefs. They believe vehemently that there's no permanent friends or enemies in politics and see political game as game of interests and intrigues.
However, he stressed that, under this condition, the saki politicians are not left out of the fold. Alh Nasiru Salami popularly called (NASCOTECH) was formerly an high-ranking Peoples Democratic party man and his like-minds (gladiators) called the shorts in the party, controlled and coordinate the party.
Moreover, when he was in PDP, he belonged to Adekunle/Halleluyah camp that was chaired by Prince Olutayo at the expense of Tajudeen Were faction. With time, he left the camp when his child wasn't given the ticket for the state house of assembly of the party and jumped to labour party with his cohorts where his major political foe when he was in PDP decamped to.
Salam Saheed stressed further, that what rattles him was how the APC loyalists were carpeting and painting Alh Nasiru Salami blue and black with predestined names as conservatives and an anti-progressive.
Recently, the heavy weight in the labour party, Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala through his body language will cross over to the APC in accordance with some pointers and will not be moving alone. Some of his labour party men want to use the opportunity to recharge their batteries.
With all indications, Alh Nasiru Salami NASCOTECH will make his intention known very soon that he has decamped to APC in consonance with Akala's decision. With regards, the pro- APC will eat their vomit and rebrand him as progressive man to the core.
Furthermore, Alh Nasiru Salam will for sure meander his ways to be one of the strong willed chieftains of the party and probably factionalize the new party if he is unable to get what he is coming to gain as he is not coming for nothing, he has a big name, and he is coming for something as there is no free lunch and may recamp to his former party if he is not able to get his target in the future.
Similarly, Hon Tajudeen Abisodun Were is also joining the ruling party anytime Akala make his intention known to the public. The funniest part in him is that, he has never used a party more than four years. He contested and won for the post of house of representative under the then Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) which has metamorphosised into APC in 2007 and left the party for PDP and secured the party's ticket for the second time in office in 2011.
He left the party when he ideologically felt that injustice was metted against him prior to the 2015 general election after he has fractionalized the party and contested for senatorial seat under the banner of the labour party but lost to the under dog. Now, he is attempting to return to his mainstream. He too is not coming for nothing but to get the senatorial ticket come 2019 and may leave the party for another if unable to get the ticket . Funny enough, he will be tagged progressive man in action immediately he come back to APC.

Deputy speaker oyo organizes free coaching classes and open a constituency office

In a bid to fulfill the electoral promises made, Hon. Abdul Wasiu Musah deputy speaker of house of Assembly organized a free coaching classes for secondary school students in saki and it environs and also opened a constituency office in fulfilment of his pledge to run an open door administration and quality representation in his constituency.
Mr. Moshood Jimoh Adeshina suggested the needs for more tutorial centres. He said, as a student leader, the first segment of his preferential list is education. In view of this, he believe the yearning and aspirations of the deputy speaker for qualitative and quantitative education as one of the reason the tutorial was put in place in order to contribute to the development of education in the community.
He stressed that, there is an urgent need for two or more centres for easy access of the tutorial. The students who dominate the tutorial are the students of Okere Grammar school, Oba kelani Olatoyese secondary school, Ansar-ur-deen society high school and Muslim secondary school.
As such, other schools students also wish to attend but due to the distance of the location  from their various residence had hindered them the opportunity of being part of the tutorial.
However, for the dividend of democracy to be felt by all and sundry, the resources allocated to the tutorial (Taba centre) be divided. He suggested a centre be located around Ayekale/kinni kinni to cater for the students of the environs such as Ayekale, Kinni kinni, Ilua, Baabo, Oge, Isale-oke, Isale oro, Gboro etc.
Another centre should also be situated at Apinnite/Ajegunle to cater for the students of the environs such as Ajegunle, Apinnite, Koomi, Irewole, Tabori, Otun, Ayetoro, Idi-isin, Oke-odo, challenge, Oke-muyibi and Barrack area.

Moreover, we must leave behind us politics of bitterness and township superiority. Politicians from all political parties are always invited and made to seat together on the high table and contribute to discussion, he said.
Finally, Oke-ogun project forum is battle ready to lead Oke-ogun people out of the clutches of Oyo state political barons and sincerely appreciate everyone that have attended the meeting. The journey to 2019 is not too early and must all join hands together to salvage our region.
